Screenshots Inbound!
I'll be posting some screenies in the next few days, as I feel like this place needs some color. Too bad I didn't get one of our triumph in HoO yesterday. Lesigh.
Level 3 and an Achievement!
RNG hit guild level 3 this week, and we also completed a guild run of the Halls of Origination on Heroic difficulty. We're all quite pleased with our performance, but Haznabel was rather curious about our success. Why were we able to stomp Heroic Halls of Origination (HoO), when we've had so much trouble in Heroic Throne of the Tides? We stumbled a little on the Chaos Construct, Setesh, and ended up skipping him (it?) altogether. The key to our successes in HoO is our communication, and knowledge of the fights. It never hurts to have a random damage class with 350 Average Item Level, either.
What was so different about this HoO run, and our utter failure at killing Lady Naz'jar in Throne of the Tides? A couple, simple things. We were communicating almost constantly on Ventrilo, and all but one of us had been in the regular version of the dungeon or the heroic version before last night. Fast, clear communication is extremely important in dungeons, and raids, because you can let your party members know about missed interrupts, or add spawns, or standing in the fire. Talking is also easier than typing out eight different encounter mechanics, as well.
A little bit of experience goes along way, even if your previous experience was only the regular version. Knowing what the various spell effects of Boss X look like gives everyone an advantage, even if the Heroic version will be spitting out more spells more often, or more eggs, or more portals or what have you. That little bit of experience can give you just that much more of a chance to recover if, and when, everything goes pear-shaped.
Enough about that, you want to hear about LOOT! Well, Haznabel got a healer-centered staff and chest, and Ironrime got some DPS gear. Not ideal, but upgrades are still upgrades!
